I don't think you can draw a straight line between number of followers and the social influence someone has.What kind of influence are you talking about? Over major decisions other people make? I think that a small group of 100 friends who are linked to each other have more influence over each other's ideas and acts than huge networks of people who follow a celebrity Twitterer so that they keep abreast of the latest scoop.I really think that the number of Twitterers who consider the opinions of those 10 people listed when they come to forming opinions or making decisions is very, very, very small, probably mostly people without a close network of friends.
