The Social Networking Conference is being held from July 10-11 at the Mission Bay Conference Center at UCSC. The discussion regarding social media is going to be led by Toby Vann, the executive director at Roundarch. It should be a great conference and more information regarding the event can be found here. Among those attending the conference is going to be Randy Adkins the chief knowledge officer for the U.S. air force. Randy is going to be reviewing applications for how social media can be used to benefit the U.S air force.
I think it’s great that the U.S. air force is looking to explore social media platforms and am curious to see what they will come up with. I’m hoping that more and more government agencies are going to embrace social media. Can you imagine a social network for the IRS? or if the IRS created a twitter account? We have already seen companies such as H&R Block join platforms such as twitter and they are having a lot of success.
What government agencies would you like to see using social media and how do you think you would interact with them?
