The “real world” famous are flocking to Twitter to communicate directly with fans and also each other. They’re realizing that Twitter is an indisputable medium to cultivate a new genre of meaningful relationships that humanize the aurora of their “celebrity.” Sometimes, those conversations can be a bit too human, but depending on the person you’re following, they can also be refreshing, revealing and entertaining.
Over the weekend, Perez Hilton and Lily Allen got into a “twissing” match in public that resulted in Allen finally blocking Hilton. In the end, fans of both celebs watched as the pair exchanged 140-character jabs back and forth until Allen finally moved on.

I think they both know exactly what they are doing and loving it. They each have lots of followers and probably just gained 1,000 more.
Also, I find it convenient that they get into it the week her album comes out. I had sort of forgotten about it, but now I might be reminded to go check it out since I have the first one.
I can’t be the only one thinking this was all planned.
They saw all the buzz last week that was generated by the fight between the Canadian reporter and the PR person. They figured if two “nobodies” could get that kind of pub, they should get much more play.
Awesome. This exchange reminds me of high school with one important difference: No one actually gets their ass-kicked in the end. Shame. So much can be learned from a thorough pounding.
I actually don’t think it was staged. They’ve been fighting for months on his site, her Myspace, etc. She even called him a “thorn in her side” during a big magazine interview. I think they genuinely dislike each other
