Showoffs for Twiistup 3 (January 16th in Venice) have been announced. For all you out-of-towners, Bub.blicio.us is a media sponsor so we’ll be covering the action live!

After an impressive submission from start-ups all over (even France!) the selection committed picked nine companies to show their wares to the 300+ people that will be in attendance. All past events have been sold out affairs so get tickets early. Showoffs will also be eligible to win $5,000 in Yahoo! Search Marketing services (sweet!) And the crowd gets to pick. Winners will be selected via SMS vote at the event.

Twiistup still needs corporate participation to make it the best event yet so if you’re interested check out the sponsorship page. I went to the last event and know personally that each showoff had a great time and made excellent business connections.

Current sponsors include: Userplane, Speaktech, Microsoft, Yahoo! Search Marketing, AOL Developer Network

Now on to the Showoffs! Congrats.

What’s just as impressive as the companies is the people behind them.

I went to lunch with the guys from YellowBot, for example, and they’ve clearly been in the local space a long time before launching their company. They know it inside and out.
