Let me tell you. New and exciting tech news is slowing to a trickle this year. I’m starting to worry that I’ll only get to write about new Google, Facebook , and Twitter news, because I’m fairly certain those three aren’t going anywhere.

Speaking of Twitter news, I stumbled across an interesting new Twitter app today. Called Twickie, it tracks your replies and lets you export those replies easily. I’ve had several instances in blogging where I’ve wanted to export a Twitter thread, so this is a great little tool for me.

Twickie will access your 50 most recent tweets. Clicking Get @s lets you view replies to any particular tweet in either descending or ascending order. You can also use the Replies page on Twickie to find tweet replies based on a specific tweet’s ID.  In particular, the Conversations option should help you extract a conversation thread with up to ten replies between any amount of people.

You can then export your conversation with Copy HTML, Copy CSS, or Copy Full options. Twickie also has a bookmarklets feature that allow you to access Twickie options from your toolbar while using Twitter.com.

tweric: Congratulations on elearn guild gig! When is it? It’d be fun to demo it live: tweet a question & get replies…have fun!

I admittedly had trouble getting a Conversation (as opposed to just replies) to appear. I also wish that I could view more than my last 50 tweets, but that might be an API limitation. But, you just never know when you’ll need to reference and pull in a conversation from Twitter, so this is a great option.

Wow! That’s a sweet little app. I’ve been wanting to do the same thing…especially for exporting conversations that are good examples of twitter usage that I can add to my presentations.
    Good find!
The eLearning Guild Online Forums are great! You will have tons of fun with the participants in the online system.
    Cheers!
