Let me start by stating that this was th first of for parties/events of the evening. First up was Topix.
Atop the St. Regis, an elegant and stylish party awaited the bub.blicio.us crew. Robert Scoble joined us as well. Upon arrival, we were directed to the outdoor deck of the fourth floor. When we stepped out of the elevator, we were greeted by two uniformed staffers who, with their white gloves, opened the doors for us while also handing us a glass of wine (served in gorgeous crystal glasses.)

The rootop was covered in a clear vinyl tent and appointed with very chic furniture with a full staff of prompt service professionals. For a moment I wasn’t sure if I was back in 1999 attending yet another over-the-top roof party.

As Dana Gardner of ZDNet pointed it out, “It’s funny how it took an old media company to throw a party like this.”
I concur, as most 2.0 parties are a bit more reminiscent of frat parties, which are cool too.
