Dear PR People:

We know you’re very busy people cranking out press releases and sending them to everyone in the mediasphere. We’re here to help you help us. Just to show you that we care, here are a few tips for working with us at bub.blicio.us (and I’m sure it would only help you with other bloggers and reporters as well.)

1 – Don’t forward emails you send to other bloggers – especially if their name and email address is somewhere in the body of the forwarded text. Slow down…

2 – Don’t send press releases without summarizing them in a way that tells us why our readers need to know about your news.

3 – Our email address is dontpop[at]gmail[dot]com.

4 – We cover cool startups, tech culture, events, launch parties, and Web trends.

5 – On Twitter, we’re http://twitter.com/bubblicious. Feel free to send us public messages for consideration.

6 – Please read our posts to get a flavor for what we like to write about and how. Get to know us!

7 – Please, please, please personalize your contact to us. Don’t include us in the spam machine of auto email blasts.

8 – Include us in your private beta outreach. We need access in order to write about something intelligently.

9 – Please give us relevant links, especially links to screenshots in your initial email.

10 – If you want to give us a quote, please make it meaningful and relevant to the news at hand and its impact on the market.

Bonus – Don’t send your unannounced news and request for embargo in the same email, unless we’ve worked together before. Tell us a bit about what’s going on and let us reply with a yes or no. Protect your news and your relationships.
