In keeping with the spirit of Twestival and not to be outdone by their San Franciscan neighbors, the tech community in the Silicon Valley decided to have their own Twestival, but this time to support their own charity: the Silicon Valley Children’s Fund.
What is the Silicon Valley Children’s Fund? It’s a fund that will basically go towards benefiting those children in need. It strives to invest in the “development and expansion of high impact programs and practices that improves educational and outcomes for foster youths” in not only the Silicon Valley, but beyond. We were basically gathering together to make sure that the enormous amount of children in foster care were taken care of and had a shot at a decent education.
Twestival Mountain View (Twestival MV) was held on Sunday, September 13 at the Shoreline Lake & Aquatic Center in Mountain View, California and brought in some good people like technology evangelist Robert Scoble, HP’s own Ann Finnie and Tony “Frosty” Welch, Adam Helweh, Cory O’Brien and many others – all who were pleasantly treated to musical stylings by artists like Deborah Crooks, Shawn Evans, The Arcadists, Zen Fingerpaintings, and American Idol finalist Donnie Williams.
Here are some photos from the event:
