The SF New Tech Meetup was at its new diggs at Fat City in SOMA and there was a standing room only crowd to show their approval. This is a more serious minded venue which offers individuals and companies the chance to network with techies, journalists, VCs, entrepreneurs, CEOs, developers, and anyone out there interested in new tech.

There were 5 presentations for about 10 minutes each who shared their next big thing coming our way. Included were Conduit, a platform for building online communities via community toolbars, SezWho who aims to be a distribulted rating and reputation system for all user generated content, us4Real to provide research for a metropolitan area for someone to have access to, before deciding to move, GlobalMotion, a Wiki for locations combining geotagged photos, online maps and wikis and lastly, CrazyMenu, that makes it easier for officeworkers to order their lunch. In fact, the first 100 ticket buyers were treated to a free dinner by CrazyMenu!

A highlight of the evening was The 60-Second Soapbox when anyone from the audience was brought up onto the front and provided a mic and given the opportunity to share whatever they desired and included upcoming launches, parties, requests for engineers and even invites to Facebook.
