My mornings revolve around checking Techmeme, TechCrunch, VentureBeat, and so on. Now I have one more news site to add – Tech.Newsjunk.com.
Dave Winer, who runs the politcally focused Newsjunk.com, decided that Techmeme and some of the others just weren’t application focused enough for him. He wanted new product reviews and new launches. At some point, on Twitter, I know I read him make the point that new launches hardly even make the front page of Techmeme anymore, as they get lost in the flurry of Apple/Yahoo/Microsoft/Google news.
It’s worth mentioning that Tech.Newsjunk.com is just news bubbling along, in order only by time stamp. There is no hierarchy or mention of the continuing discussion, as on Techmeme. But Tech.Newsjunk.com does focus on the smaller startup and the product news, offering a short synopsis and a link to the originating article.
I’ll be checking both. Currently, I’m rather thrilled with Tech.Newsjunk.com. Techmeme is reporting constantly on all the newsworthy things that have me a little burned out. Tech.Newsjunk.com has the information that keeps me curious.
