by BrianSolis, Disclosure: I am collaborating with Anheuser-Busch on the creation and release of AB-Extras.com
There are several articles showcasing the companies who are embracing social media for Sunday’s Big Game and I wanted to introduce you to one more..
Today Anheuser-Busch announced AB-extras.com – a social media destination for Bud fans 21 years of age and older to reveal the human element and stories behind the ads that will premier during Super Bowl ’09.
AB-Extras.com packages exclusive content using a combination of social tools and networks such as Social Media Releases, YouTube, Blip.TV, flickr, all hosted on a WordPress blog platform.
Comscore released its list revealing the top Social Networks and Social Media properties for 2008 (note, these numbers to not include December traffic). Google’s Blogger.com blogging platform is clearly dominating, however Facebook continues its meteoric rise and appears on track to imminently earn the number one spot. Myspace appears to have leveled off a bit, but is still in third place. WordPress comes in at a close fourth, demonstrating the continued growth of its blogging network. Windows Lvie Spaces and Yahoo! Geocities trail in a distant fifth and sixth place, however, Flickr shows a strong position at number seven. Scribd deserves a mention as it continues to grow as a premier social network for the sharing and discovery of documents.
Yesterday I mentioned that I’d installed Typepad app on my iPhone. That’s great for my tech blog and my wine blog. But Bub.blicio.us is a WordPress blog. I was thrilled this morning to learn that we’ll soon have a WordPress for iPhone application, 100% open source. These applications make blogging so easy on-the-go. Where I have been twittering photos and such, it looks like I may return to blogging while mobile.
Here’s a video:
(And no, I didn’t even attempt to purchase a new iPhone today. I’m waiting a month or so, until Apple & AT&T have mastered their troublesome activation process.)
