The SummerMash Mashables 2008 San Francisco event was obviously going to be a good party when there was already more than 100 people standing outside waiting to get in before the doors opened at Mighty. The night was filled with a couple giveaway raffles, demos/booths, rare drink tickets, and of course intellectual web and tech conversations.

Stephanie Marnitz, Ryan Hupfer, and Karen Hartline.

Mashable’s US Summer Tour 2008 is in full swing, and last night, San Francisco’s Mighty hosted the latest stop.

The party drew hundreds of geeks from the SF Bay Area as well as many others who were in town from around the country. I arrived at about 7 p.m. and was greeted by a line of over 100 early arrivals slowly, but surely, making their way inside. At first glance, I noticed that everyone was stylishly dressed, which indicated to me, that it was not going to be the usual tech party. And, indeed it wasn’t. This was a gathering of those who are indubitably defining the social economy and the new Web along with it, from the architects to entrepreneurs to marketers and everyone in between.
The crowed poured into a warehouse-sized venue, leaving almost zero room to easily navigate between the popular beacons who held court throughout the evening. Depending on the location, conversations took place one person at a time – it was just that loud and that packed, and it didn’t lighten up until well after it was scheduled to end.
I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story:
