Every now and then we all send an email that we instantly regret sending. If you’re lucky enough to be on an exchange server, you can recall a sent email. Now you can do that from Gmail as well.

Go to your Gmail Settings and click the Labs tab. There is now the option to Undo Send.

Once you’ve enabled this feature, you have two chances to call back a sent message. You can hit cancel when you see the Sending … message.

Alternatively, you have about 5 seconds to hit Undo when the Sent message appears.

Either way, you have to react quickly. You better regret that Sent message instantly. But isn’t it nice to have the option?

I’m sure many folks are familiar with the concept of beer goggles. It’s that state of mind when sending a text message or making a phone call to your ex or your boss might seem like a splendid idea. Now, it seems as if people send email when inebriated. Hmm, I may have been guilty of doing this myself once or twice in the past.

Gmail Labs has released Mail Goggles for your Gmail. According to creator Jon Perlow:

When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you’re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you’re in the right state of mind?

That’s right. Before you send that late-night missive, you need to do math. Now I have trouble with math when I’m sober, so this would definitely cause me to stumble. By default, the Mail Goggles are only active late at night on weekends, since that’s when you’ll probably need it. But you can adjust that in the settings.

So, did that make you chuckle this morning?
