Sweet Tweets: TwitGift

by Michelle Lentz on February 25, 2010

Launched, I believe, only a few days ago, Twitgift.me, a product of the LAC Project, is a new way to send a real gift to your Twitter friends.

You simply choose a gift (which currently consists of chocolate chip, sugar, or peanut butter cookies), enter your own Twitter ID and credit card information, as well as the Twitter ID of the recipient. That’s it. The recipient gets a tweet notifying them of the Twitgift and they enter their own shipping information and can be waiting eagerly for the cookie arrival.

It’s a great concept. After all, sometimes you’ll discover wonderful people on Twitter, but you may rarely see them and never ask for their mailing address. Now you don’t have to; you can just send a Twitgift when that wonderful person has a birthday, needs a pick-me-up, or is celebrating something.

The cookies cost $19 and it looks like there is around $10 in shipping. Twitgift is looking for more vendors to add, so they won’t be an all-baked-goods type of place (not that I have any issues with cookies!).

UPDATE: The nice folks over at TwitGift sent me my own box of cookies after this post. I love chocolate chip cookies, so I couldn’t have been happier. The entire unboxing can be found in a post on my personal blog.

Mmm, Smells Like Bacon on YouTube

by Brian Solis on September 30, 2008

Who is Bacon Man?

Is this a new viral video and if so, who’s behind it and why?

We found this series of videos very intriguing, but also pleasantly random, and some of us are even contemplating a Bacon Man costume for Halloween…it was either this or Tina Fey as Sarah Palin!

Enjoy #baconman!

Go Animate! Even if you don’t know how …

by Michelle Lentz on August 1, 2008

by Michelle Lentz

A friend of mine discovered GoAnimate.com earlier in the week and has been playing with it nonstop. GoAnimate gives the average human being (as opposed to talented animators) a chance to make a nifty animation with no skills whatsoever. I can’t see this replacing animators and artists, so no worries there, but it certainly is fun.

Their About page reads

We are a bunch of guys who love animation and want to share our passion with the world! The problem is that animation requires very specific skills. Animators need to learn Flash or other advanced software before being able to create anything. They also need to know how to draw. That’s why we created GoAnimate, a platform that allows people to express themselves through animation without having to learn to draw or install any software.

Go Animate provides you with thought bubbles, backgrounds, general people, famous people, accessories, and more. In addition, you can upload your own images to use in whatever way you choose.

It’s Friday. It’s the first day of August. Go have some fun and go animate!

Here’s an animation by my friend. It shows just how easy it is to make your own …

Have a great weekend!
