I don’t think I’ve ever written a CD review…I’m so impressed with Coldplay’s newest release that I wanted to share a few words with you.
Coldplay picked the one person who would make all the difference. Brian Eno, who along with Flood, shaped U2′s sound and longevity over the years.
With Viva La Vida, Eno helped Coldplay create an “album” instead of a collection of singles. The sound is mysterious, haunting, enthralling, and emotional. There’s life, suffering, exploration, love, and introspection in each note and lyric. Eno successfully evolved and rescued Chris Martin’s words from irrelevance to thought-provoking. He breathes new life into the franchise and its future.
