The new album from HipHop Artist Chamillionaire titled Mixtape Messiah 6 was released today. And according to Chamillionaire’s Tweet earlier, the new album was available in stores today in his home state of Texas at 5:00 PM at Sundance Records in San Marcos, and at 7:00 PM at Pirania Records in Round Rock. I’m not sure if he made appearances at each store, but the Bub.blicio.us team was lucky enough to chat with Houston-native Hakeem “Chamillionaire” Seriki.
We caught up with Chamillionaire back in July at the TechCrunch-August Capital Meetup, which was held at August Capital’s offices on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park. Chamillionaire was in town that day and took a minute to share with us his thoughts on social media and his new album, which at the time of the interview he was still working on it. We caught up with industry expert Greg Goodfried at the NewTeeVee Live conference back in November where he shared his expertise and thoughts during the Bridging the Gap Between Television and Online panel. Also on the panel was writer and producer Jesse Alexander, who we interviewed here. The two spoke about the idea of transmedia and the convergence of new and old media.
Goodfried is co-founder, president and COO of EQAL, a social entertainment company. He is also the co-creator and executive producer of the online video series’ lonelygirl15, KateModern, and LG15: The Resistance.
We caught Beatrice Tarka of Mobissimo hanging out in the lobby at the Web 2.0 Summit so we decided to check in and see what’s new with the service. If you’re not already a fan, Mobissimo is a travel search engine that indexes over 200 travel sites to compares prices from online travel agencies, traditional airlines, low cost airlines and consolidators.
Their latest addition is Mobishare, which is a neat little feature that lets you share links to your latest travel finds, photos and videos with your friends and family, and post suggestions of places to go. Beatrice and I talked about online travel, Mobissimo and more – check it out!
If you’ve got a startup in Silicon Valley, or anywhere for that matter, chances are that you’ve heard of Ron Conway. The so-called “Godfather of Silicon Valley” has made over 20 investments in Web 2.0 companies such as Twitter, Digg, PBWiki, Seesmic, the list goes on and on.
Recently, Ron has been very vocal about his advice for startups in the downward economy recommending to his companies that they conserve cash and cut costs, even renegotiate all expenses, including rent.
