Founders Hacks at STIRR

We saved the best for last here at Bubblicious. Sanford Barr and Sean Ness brought near legendary founders at put them on the spotlight for Founder Hacks III, a recurring and a very informative session with three founders that have succeeded and even more importantly, when some of them have failed. This brings insight to all current and aspiring entrepreneurs that are on their way to achieving their dreams. At the same time, a lucky entrepreneur got a gift from the Premier Sponsor, Sun Microsystems (more on that later).

To really bring it home, I saw Michael Cerda’s account of how bringing in the ‘right’ people into a former company cost him funding. He was quite passionate about this using well placed profanity to drive his point. This brought shivers down my spine. Evan Williams accounted on time sinks that killed productivity (an issue that can hurt any company). Jonathan Abrams spoke about his early experiences on looking at a company’s idea over where their office location as well as their perceived hype. All interviews can be seen on Stirr’s site.

For those lucky people that put their card in the fish bowl, the drawing was for a new server from Sun. The winner was none other than fellow entrepreneur Gregarious Narain of Littlegrams. A previous post from Brian Solis can be seen here.

An honorable mention goes to Tyler Willis who’s kicking off Startup Weekend here in San Francisco. Those that are involved will be creating a new website as done previously in other cities. This list of those attending on their site just goes to show you that the social economy is alive and kicking…
