It was one of those nights again in San Francisco. Last Thursday, the city played host to SF Beta, PaidContent and SF Big (Bay Area Interactive Group.)

While at SF Beta, we noticed a few lucky patrons carrying cool, glow-in-the-dark Google cups. After further investigation, we learned that they were the token giveaway from SF Big. Since it was only a handful of long blocks away, we decided to walk.

Ben Wan, Daniela Barbosa, Julie Blaustein, Adriana Gascoigne, and I made the trek over to the Merchant Exchange where SF Big sponsors, Google, Yahoo, among others, ensured that guests were well fed and properly lubricated.

Unfortunately, I missed the presentations from the panel, so instead I mingled, tasted the gourmet Sushi and Dim Sum, and enjoyed the company of an obviously booming group of professionals.

Guests included Bay Area interactive/online marketing, SEO, and advertising professionals. The chitter chatter was fantastically hollow, with everyone offering their advice on how to improve their online presence. I bit my tongue for the entire night, and instead, decided to take pictures.

Sponsors also set up podiums for demos, but since they were in a room far from the bars and food, I decided to move on.

Either way, it was a good distraction from the Web 2.0 crowd. Hopefully I can make the next event.
