I don’t really have any details, but I just got an email from LinkedIn that made me shout “Finally!” at the top of my lungs.
I run a LinkedIn group for a professional organization in Cincinnati. No one can ever find the group, because I have to direct them to my LinkedIn profile and ask them to click on the image for the group. It’s a pain.
Here’s the email that brightened my day a little:
Dear Michelle,
On Friday, July 11th, we are pleased to announce that LinkedIn will launch a searchable Group Directory.
To ensure users can find and join your group, please review and update the description and settings for your group.
Sincerely,
The LinkedIn team
So there you go. Starting July 11, people will actually be able to find your group, and mine, on LinkedIn. Now if they could just make it so I didn’t have to approve every member, I’d be thrilled.

Discussion
Wow, Michelle, thanks you have made my day as well. I run a job leads, business network and recruiting professionals group on LinkedIn and the lack of common search is a long standing issue. I am so happy that the twitterverse has delivered such great news from you!
