For the Pikeo Launch party I found myself at Adobe, the old Macromedia building in San Francisco. It was swanky affair, with men in white chef hats serving numerous Hors D’oeuvres while free flowing wine and beer ensured that everyone would mingle throughout the night.

Unfortunately it was an invite only and was limited to mostly Adobe folks who sponsored Pikeo. Adobe’s Flex and Flash tools were used in Pikeo by France Telecom folks who spearheaded the development in both France and in San Francisco.
The demo of the product appeared similar to Flickr with tagging, smart albums, slide shows, and more. Charles, Carlos and Ilam were Adobe guys in the mobile group, but happy to partake in the celebrations. Talking to Shilo, an expert on the Adobe Flex technology, the hope is that Pikeo is just the first of many products to be launched using their tools.
Pikeo is unique in that it is based in English, Spanish, and French. The company is also emphasizing mapping as the most important and differentiated feature.
