As we embark on the fall fashion season with the many fashion weeks happening in the coming weeks and months ahead, it’s a great time to celebrate fashion. And why not kick it off with a night of celebration and shopping. Fashion’s Night Out is happening tonight and is a global initiative to celebrate the fashion industry and stimulate retail sales to keep our economy humming along with a sense of fashion forwardness.

In New York City, fashion is one of the largest industries, employing 175,000 people and generating $10 billion in total wages. Fashion is an economic driver and “none of these jobs exists if people don’t shop,” Sarah Jessica Parker says in a promo video below, with a few other fabulous fashionistas. So go shopping tonight and get your fashion on!

New York City’s Fashion’s Night Out will be buzzing with designers, models, and performers across the Five Boroughs. The participating stores are staying open until 11:00 p.m. There are festivities happening globally so if you don’t live in NYC, find out what’s happening in your city. For those of you who live and work in San Francisco, Azalea Boutique is participating from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a performance at 7:00 p.m. by hanni el khatib.
