My Cupcake TruckSilicon Valley sure has a lot of food trucks rolling around the area. Whether it’s Korean BBQ, Vietnamese, burgers, local cuisine, Asian, Italian, or anything else, there’s going to be something for everyone. Chances are that you’ve probably ventured around town and stumbled upon one of these popular mobile restaurants and picked up something to eat. Well, while it’s great that there’s more entree-style food choices for people to select, there’s one thing that sometimes you just want to crave: dessert.

Now, okay…so there are some dessert street vendors, but not that many–and after eating all those appetizers, burgers, noodles, and other assorted meals from the main vendors, shouldn’t you just take it easy and decide to go for something sweet and good? Hey, what about cupcakes? Well, there’s not a popular street vendor that just serves cupcakes. I suppose you could go to Safeway and pick up some day-old cupcakes to eat, but that’s just that fun. And cupcake stores aren’t that close to most of us. So what are we to do?

Enter the My Cupcake Truck. This new food truck is the brainchild of Krystyl Baldwin, an event planner and a manager of all things here in the Bay Area. Using her tremendous experience organizing events and occasions, Ms. Baldwin, realized that the area lacked the one tasty desert treat that everyone loves the most–that being cupcakes! After a while, people probably tend to get tired of eating nacho chips, tacos, and small sandwiches at parties, so why not try something different? That’s what the My Cupcake Truck will do. Ms. Baldwin will use this new venture to bring special cupcakes–ones that are unique for every occasion and customized just the way you want them–to a whole new level and make cupcakes the hit of your next party, event, or occasion.

In order to help launch the My Cupcake Truck, Ms. Baldwin has created a Kickstarter campaign designed to raise funds so that she can purchase the necessary vehicle, tent, and supplies needed to execute her grand vision. Her goal is to raise $15,000 before July 24 and she’s just shy of being half-way there. So if you’re a fan of cupcakes and you’d appreciate seeing a brand new dessert truck around the Bay Area, you probably would want to chip in a few bucks and help get this campaign going.

Corona Lime CupcakesHere’s the deal…My Cupcake Truck will be navigating its way around San Francisco. What you get is a plain cupcake–nothing pre-made with frosting that you probably won’t necessarily want on your dessert. This way it’s completely your cupcake. If you so desire icing, you can have it added, to whatever your designated amount is–you can go light or perhaps even heavy–whatever you so desire. The wish is to help you reclaim your dessert. What is it that you want on your cupcake? All the other times when you’ve had a cupcake, the icing and flavor has been whatever the baker wanted. It seems that Ms. Baldwin is interested in the recipient’s feedback and what they want to taste with their cupcake. Not a bad move…whatever you want, whenever you want it.

So what will the capital raised go towards? Well like I mentioned before, it’ll be used for supplies and for obtaining a vehicle to help get the My Cupcake Truck operation off the ground. Hopefully, if the campaign is fully funded, the My Cupcake Truck will be hitting the streets of San Francisco in a few short months.

Don’t miss out on a chance to help launch a new dessert truck right here in Silicon Valley. The Kickstarter campaign ends in just a few days so make sure you take a look at the My Cupcake Truck program and see if it’s worth your support…because quite honestly, who doesn’t want a cupcake. Hell, I bet you’re probably thinking about a cupcake and that you’re wondering where you can get a cupcake. Kinda difficult to find a place right? Betcha wish there was a cupcake truck…
