Sikbox is a new free tool that allows you to add a live search feature to your blog/site. You can visit the site to get a good idea of how it works, but basically you enter in your domain name and a particular keyword/phrase and your results are displayed instantly.

If you like how it works and you want to add the code to your site you just click on the “get the code” button and you can paste the little widget to your site. The widget is fully customizable and according to sikbox it’s very lightweight on the code, which is great.

Sikbox doesn’t mention how it searches through the pages though, for example does it search for actual body copy or does it go through the tags and categories as well? This is something I would want to know about because usually the categories are quite vague and non descriptive and tags are usually repeated throughout multiple posts.

Overall though I think it’s a great little thing to have for your site if you are looking to add search functionality, especially if you want something clean and simple.

what do you think about sikbox?
