LinkedIn continues its run at proving why you need to also use its network in the face of emerging business network competition.
Mario Sundar reported on the LinkedIn blog that the company revised the main dashboard page and also provided more details on LinkedIn’s Intelligent Application Platform.
The new homepage features company news to quickly catch up on the industry and topics of your choice. There are also feeds that track the most popular articles read by your contacts.

LinkedIn furthers the dashboard motif by offering customizable modules, including People, Jobs, and Answers. LinkedIn Answers continues to astound me on just how many people rely on it to stay connected and to also leverage the wisdom of the crowds for more informed research.

The network now features a news feed entitled Network Updates, which pipes the updates from your network. It’s a great way to be reminded of the activities from those who usually fall just outside your peripheral vision, especially when you have a large pool of friends.

LinkedIn continues to stay relevant. And, the company’s not done fighting for market share. Similar to Facebook’s F8 program, LinkedIn is banking on Google’s Open Social allowing developers to create applications that run inside the network. To date, I still find reasons to manage both my Facebook and LinkedIn communities to stay connected to the people that matter to me professionally and personally.
Stay tuned for more…
