We covered Lil’Grams that latest startup project founded by Greg Narain of Bluewhale Labs. when it was in its private alpha stage and it now looks like it’s live in an open prototype format for families to start celebrating and sharing their pride and joy through an entirely new and dedicated network. Their input will determine the next phase of the site and its functionality. Narain really wants this to evolve to the needs and benefits of active parents.

The most precious moments of your baby’s life are countless – but they only come once. With LittleGrams, you can keep, track, and share anything about your baby with those, and only those, who really want to stay informed.
Lil’Grams features a stylish and elegant design and interface has been dubbed the Twitter for new parents or as Narain observes, “Some have also called us the Pownce for babies and even the dogster for babies.”
After a bit of investigation and assessment, Lil’Grams is all of the above.

Inspired by his newborn son Aiden, Narain created Lil’Grams, “As a way of dedicating a living memory book that celebrates his life and my love for him.”

As I’ve written about lifestreams over at PR 2.0 and the potential for microblogs and other forms of MicroMedia to not only create new communications channels for the masses, but also serve niche markets extremely well, connecting people in ways not before possible.
Everything you want to know about Lil’Grams is here. Allen Stern of Centernetworks also has a great Q&A with Narain.

Brian – looks like a great tool, I just signed up to get access. Looking forward to playing around with it!
Thanks Brian!
Brian,
While my 3 girls are really “babies” in the true sense of the word, they will always be “my babies” so given that, I will give Lil’Grams a spin and potentially will write it up on my blog (http://blog.techdad.net) as well.

My brain is moving too quickly for my fingers…meant to say: “While my 3 girls AREN’T really ‘babies’ in the true sense of the word…”
They are actually growing up faster than I would like!
-Michael
