Introducing the “I <3 Twitter Because…” Day

Sometimes the best cure or treatment for stress, concern, and fear (especially in the face of a potentially dire economic recession) is the process and act of sharing *the love.*

October 29th is the first of many “I <3 Twitter because…” days (I hope), so that we can share and celebrate a community that brings us together around the publicly shared thoughts, innovation, ideas and ultimately, the people behind them, in order to collaboratively learn, grow, and excel.

    I love Twitter because I have lots of random thoughts on different topics, and it gives me an outlet for them. A side effect of it is the social networking that then results.

    I <3 Twitter b/c sometimes I read something and I just want to share it with people who’ll appreciate it and want to discuss it. So I post it on Twitter and voila- a twitter conversation begins. And I always learn something new! That’s powerful.

    I love Twitter because it is a super networking shortcut. I love meeting smart people and it’s definitely helped me meet people I wouldn’t have otherwise. Also, it’s so darned fun!

    I love twitter because I live in the middle of Wyoming and am isolated from face-to-face communications with people in my field. With twitter I can have conversations and share topics with people that care (other than my dog).

    I love Twitter cuz it also functions like a virtual traffic cop, directing you to cool links throughout the web. Who needs google? Sike! It’s also so much fun, like having a virtual pet. P.S. Brian Solis’ Twitter posts and others have gotten me major kudos in the workplace. Love y’all.

    I love Twitter because I make professional connections, keep up with news that interests me, stay in touch with friends, find out about emerging trends and new technologies, am pushed to think about things in new ways. Not just every day, but several times an hour, and all in the same place. It’s one-stop shopping for brain food and connections.

    I love twitter because I have found people with very similar interests. They have allowed me to discover resources I would have otherwise never known. Twitter perfectly embodies everything social media stands for – Participating, sharing and conversing.

    I <3 twitter because it opened up an avenue of new communication. I can trade ideas, get tips from top experts, and share information with hundreds of people at once. Also great way to start up initial conversations with people in the social media space and be the first to learn about new innovations. The possibilities are endless…
