Packed At Mighty

Myles Weissleder delivered on his promise to me and to all of us that attended on Wednesday night at Mighty in San Francisco. Beginning with Get Satisfaction, Thor Muller has definitely hit upon a new phenomena. By leveraging the power of the Internet (which is connecting people), they utilize people-powered customer service for every product/service. As mentioned on their site , it is “a place where communities of customers come together to answer each others questions, share ideas with each other or with an organization, report and solve problems and generally talk about about what matters to them around these products or services”. Get Satisfaction helps companies engage with their customers and their product/service as well. In my opinion, this was the most significant demo out of the entire bunch. This service of getting customer feedback data is priceless for any company big or small.
Michael Land Of Smashmash.tv

Smashmash.TV is a great online alternative to buying a video editing program (which they also created). Michael Land, CEO of this new company put together a fun skit together for the entire group at Mighty. They were part of LucasFilm Games in the 90’s.
Phillip Bensaid, Co-Founder & Russell Richardson, Lead Software Engineer of Crush3r

Crush3r is a new service that invites one’s personal events and events one visits. Phillip Bensaid, Co-Founder & one armed Russell Richardson, Lead Software Engineer were on deck to show us Cruch3r’s features to the crowd. Not pictured here but worth a mention was Clarizen’s online project management application for non-project management work environments. Gil Heiman, Director of Community for Clarizen showed a great presentation on the use of the subscription service. I appreciated it because it was great even for a project management professional such as myself. Skitch was also showcased by our common friend, Brian Caldwell of Plasq and CEO, Cris Pearson. Brian Solis unveiled about it here. I must say that I was amused to hear a Venture Capitalist get up and ask “where’s the business model in all of this?” This goes to show for all you entrepreneurs that this is the crux of every startup’s raison d’etre in the eyes of the investor.
Myles' New Startup

Finally, I want to congratulate Myles for his new ’startup’, Ms. Summer Amélie Weissleder. No doubt, that she is off to a great start for 2008 and so is her CEO (aka new dad).
