Looks like Docstoc is going to take on scribd sooner than later. The Beverly Hills-based company announced its Series A financing today, but the amount was undisclosed.

According to CEO Jason Nazar, the round was lead in part by Scott Walchek the early stage VC in Baidu, Brett Brewer one of the co-founders of Intermix Media the parent company of MySpace, and Robin Richards the founding President of MP3.com.

The highly anticipated site, currently in private beta, has attracted serious attention from technophiles, social networking authorities, and investors alike.

Dostoc is a document exchange that lets users share any document type — including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, and PDF.
