Do You Like Charts?

After presenting at the Techcrunch 50 conference earlier this year, icharts is up and running. Icharts is a way for users to create and share online charts, think of excel but web based and much simpler to use. Users can share charts and leave comments the same way they can in a blog.

Once you sign up with icharts you are presented with a full set of features such as audio commentary which allow you to fully customize your chart to make it interactive.

Of course you can add in a title, description, and tags for your chart. All of this information helps make the chart searchable which is a unique feature. Most charts you see online are image based and are thus not as searchable as the icharts that are created.

As of yet I’m still a bit unclear as to how the company is making any money, I know they are funded but I’m talking about a solid sustainable business model, perhaps they will revert to advertising like everyone else?

Check out the presentation that icharts did at Techcrunch 50, there is a demo along with some interesting information.

do you see a need for icharts? would you use it?

Hi Jacob, thanks for the post. I’m afraid I can’t give away any corporate secrets at this point, but I can tell you that advertising is definitely not going to be our core business model :-) If you would like to have a premium account, but you don’t have one yet, feel free to drop me a line. If I know your user name I can convert your account to premium. Best, Tyron.
