DEMOfall 07 Kicks Off in San Diego

DEMOfall 2007 is underway and things kicked off with a stylish outdoor party overlooking the marina.

69 or so companies, bloggers, media, and analysts convened on the lawn outside of the Sheraton Marina in San Diego.

Presenters hardly seemed nervous as everyone practiced their spiel with all attending party goers.

Aside from the typical discussion of who was launching what, the common thread of conversation revolved around TechCrunch40 and whether or not it was truly a rival of DEMO or merely just another must-attend conference. Of course, the other big story of the night was about the two companies, Wixi and mEgo who got the boot from DEMO because they showcased their new products at TC40.

I guess that’s the price you pay for breaking the rules.

Nonetheless, the two conferences are independent of each other and are representative of two very different, yet still important, showcases on emerging technology.
