Who knew that I would write my first post about DEMO 07 on bub.blicio.us instead of PR2.0? After attending last night’s cocktail reception in the lobby of the JW Marriot Resort and Spa, I quickly realized that I was surrounded by Web 2.0 CEOs and their marketing posse – it was like being back home.

Just how many you ask? Too many to list, but for the sake of good ol’ link loving, I’ll do my best. I met with some really cool companies last night, many of which I hard heard about prior to arriving at DEMO, but there were also plenty of surprises. It also was interesting to see just how many vulture capitalists, err VCs, swarmed the star struck 2.0 execs.

I had the opportunity to meet with:
None other than Marshall Kirkpatrick and his new team at Splash Cast
Eyejot
Jaman
PreClick
Mixpo
Mobio
Boorah
ZOHO
My-Currency
Aggregate Knowledge
Zink (less 2.0, but dammit, it’s probably the most buzz-worthy product at the show – well that and Jaman)
But that is by no means an accurate representation of how Web 2.0 has infiltrated DEMO 07. See here for the rest!

Now of course, it’s not just the companies that are attracting the fanfare, it’s the rock stars of the blogosphere. The fact that a-list bloggers were here in full force, is a true sign of their importance in teeing up tomorrow’s stars today.

I held incredible conversations with some of the best of the bunch until the wee hours of the morning, including:
Michael Arrington, TechCrunch
Robert Scoble (he said that I was an a-lister now….we’ll see about that, but I’m humbled)
John Furrier, then man, the visionary behind PodTech
Steve Gillmor
Kate Fehrenbacher, GigaOm
Oliver Starr, MobileCrunch
Marc Orhant, Office Evolution
Graeme Thickins, Tech Surf Blog
Shel Israel
Matt Marshall, VentureBeat
Mike Masnick, TechDirt

The event is more than exciting. I’m also helping-out with Ephraim Schwartz and Steve Fox from Infoworld to help them capture the event through pictures. Here’s my first contribution.
