Hat tip to Owen Thomas at Valleywag on the latest chapter of the rise and fall, and fall again of a once great technology business magazine.

Dead Herring recently launched to give a voice to those who have been shafted by the magazine and it’s questionable business tactics.

Excerpt from the site:

Red Herring, the magazine that reports on “The Business of Technology” has hit upon a new way of running a business – don’t pay your suppliers. Freelance journalist Steve Homer wrote two articles for RH in early 2005 and had to wait over 12 months before the Herring finally paid up. Have you been similarly shafted? If so share your story here.
