Imagine this. You’re a celebrity, uber rich, famous and well known. You have everything any of us ‘little people’ would kill for including multiple houses and cars, lavish vacations to St. Tropez and weekend safari getaways. Accompanying all of that is access to designers, runways and CLOTHES! Racks and racks of designer duds are sent to you all the time to wear this label, be seen in that brand, etc. Agh! In the words of Rachel Zoe, “I’d Die.”
With that said, what I don’t understand are celebrities who clearly don’t take advantage of the frocks they can get so easily and instead choose to dress so frumpy, plain Jane or just down-right tacky. What’s the point in being a celebrity if you’re just going to look good for the Academy Awards when you have a team of stylists making you look that fabulous? You can’t do it yourself? Just a little effort? Really? What a waste!
I dedicate this post to celebrities who should be giving their miracle worker stylist teams a major holiday bonus this year… enjoy!
Kirsten Dunst – The Frumpster

Jennifer Garner – The Queen Plain Jane

Britney Spears – The “You Must Be Joking”

And to end this post and Friday off with a bang, here’s what happens when celebrities get too big to listen to their Stylists’ advice. Poor, Poor Lindsay (hehe)

Disclosure: I heart all of these ladies (except Britney) and mean no harm to them and their greatness. Just in the mood for a fun post. Happy weekend!

Hah! I love it!
hehe… Thx Andrew! Have a good weekend! yipee
Oh Ally, we are so on the same page!
1. I don’t understand why these women find it so hard to find something together and don’t look like they are getting by on hand-me-downs or worse, the rest of us do just fine, for the most part!
2. Having all that money, influence in the industry and the resources to do so, why not hire someone AND LISTEN TO THEM…I don’t think it’s the stylist sending them down the street in rags!
3. But what happens when they stylist needs a makeover too?? Ehemmm, ehemmm, Rachel Zoe! Or when a 13-year-old who dresses herself in the dark is considered to be the next big fashionista? (Refer to the link below: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1215048/Meet-Tavi-Gevinson-13-tiny-blogger-fashion-industry-feet.html)
I’m all for expressing yourself with clothes and style, but come on, the line must be drawn somewhere! (I’m talking to you Olsen twins!)
Great posting Ms. Bethurem!!
HAHA! Irene – you’re too funny! yes, these teeny tiny gals in their overbearing smocks and locks are too much for me! Its called a ‘Tailor’ ladies… cant they wear something fitted on occasion? Jeez!
xo
What needs to be ‘made-over’ is the disheartening fact that we ‘normies’ are so obsessed with our celebrity idols even when they are inclined to display obviously their inherent lack of concern for themselves and their mental ‘wardrobe’. These women are women who unfortunately have the power to influence a great portion of our morally deteriorating society; why not become concerned with their societal contributions instead? Oh wait; because we care more about what they wear then about how they wield their power. Great article, great pics; its good to see how our heroes are in fact regular people capable of nothing superior beyond looking fancy in an expensive dress.
