I love how fall is so romantic. The changing colors and the warm yet crisp air create a month of pure splendor. Some people take it in and then just move into the wreaths and twinkling lights of winter. Some people though, make fall one memorable experience, like this guy, who proposed to his girlfriend in Central Park. It’s not just any proposal though, he took it to a tech-savvy extreme with iPhones galore, hidden cameras and a few laptops.

*note – I still can’t really tell if this is real or just some produced video trying to go viral. Either way though, it got my attention…*

The Boot-Ay

The Bootie is not a new trend. It was all over the place last fall and I just really wasn’t feeling it! Some were cute, but I still felt a bit ‘elf-ish’ and craved the classic tall up-to-the-knee boot.

This fall, however, I am happy to say that the bootie is back in a whole new way! It’s not just the ankle length clog-ish boot, but this season, it’s fierce and full of attitude stacked with mile-high platforms, criss-cross ties and an abundance of colors.

Take a look at a few on my wish list for this season:

NYC Fashion week is coming up once again to display the latest and greatest designers and frocks.  What eye candy to go and participate in the events, attend the shows and hobnob with the fashionably fabulous!

With the ever-growing popularity of fashion brands tapping influential bloggers for their marketing campaigns, fashion week is now sprinkled with self-made fashion blogging icons amongst the editors of Vogue and Elle.  As it says in a post in today’s WWD.com, “… some of the popular personal style blogs have bigger followings than many niche print fashion magazines.”

For bloggers or aspiring bloggers who are able to make it to NY Fashion Week for business or pleasure, there is one event that should be a can’t miss. Independent fashion bloggers this week announced their Evolving Influence fashion blogger conference on September 9th at the Hudson Hotel.

The one day event will begin at 9:00am and is filled with sessions on how to make a living with your blog, actively engage with your community and keep up that compelling content.  Speakers include Emily Schuman of the popular blog Cupcakes & Cashmere (who I wrote about before), Yuri Lee of LOOKBOOK.nu and Phil Oh of Street Peeper.

Tickets are $60 for the full day event that includes four seminars, lunch, an after-party and giveaways! Not bad at all! Now… if only I were in New York instead of Michigan… sigh!

I was browsing my oh-so-favorite blog, The Coveted, this morning and was taken on a link express way into what may be one of my new favorite sites dedicated to all things green fashion!

Fashion Me Green is a site where ‘style goes green.’ They’ve taken a trendy topic, green, and combined it with real street trends and fads showing readers how their new obsessions can be worn or bought in an eco-friendly version. The sustainable fashion awareness project provides site browsers with style influencers and designers who have taken their brands green and a section called FMG Daily where you can get tips on what’s hot in green fashion and how to get it!

Another awesome feature to look at is the site’s ‘projects’ where they travel to fashion capitols of the world and select a fashion influencer and style them in entire eco-friendly outfits! This is what brought me to Fashion me Green, the San Francisco Project with Jennine Jacob of The Coveted and IFB.  They’ve taken her previously styled outfits by Jennine and re-created them into similar fits but using all green clothing and accessory labels.  Love what you see in the eco-outfit? Just mosey over to the ‘Shop the shoot’ section and there is everything you’ll want to know on how to get those green styles.
