Soup of the Day: Tech!

In today’s episode of Tech Soup we cover the week’s biggest news like the free “jackets” for the Nintendo Wii controllers! We felt it was our duty to help promote the fight against sweaty palms everywhere. We also:

– Congratulated Justin.tv on their recent funding and opening up their platform
– Alerted everyone on Radiohead’s newest album and how you can get it for $1
– Discussed UC Berkeley’s Youtube classes
– Gave an overview of the new Zune features
– And covered the TechCrunch acquisition for $100 million…well, not really.

And finally, we’d like for you to check out a great cause we’re getting involved in called LitLiberation. And as always, although we’re not in affiliation with TechSoup.org, they are certainly worth checking out!

Dearly beloved – it is with great sorrow that I announce the predictable and past due passing of BubCast. The show was too often compared to so many copy cats such as Larry King Live, 60 Minutes, Dateline, Katie Couric, and other evening news programs.

The publisher of bub.blicio.us was finished inspiring other venues so he pulled the plug on BubCast’s life support to let it die with dignity.

“We’re through feeding the other guys content,” the publisher said as he tearfully yanked the cord. “Let them now fend for themselves and attempt to carry on without our inspiration!”

So, I guess that means Season 1 of BubCast was its first and last.

Oh, but wait….this just in.

Bub.blicio.us to launch a new original show that stands alone in format and content!

Introducing the new Tech Soup!

In this premiere episode we sum up the Techcrunch40 conference and all its glory, including the winning company Mint.com. Other not-so-breaking news includes the newest member of the Scoble family, the 25th birthday of the Emoticon, and NBC’s latest venture: NBC Direct. Be sure to follow Bub.blicio.us on Twitter and Jaiku to see what we’re working on and check out our channel on iTunes!

And although we are not in affiliation with TechSoup.org, they are certainly worth checking out! TechSoup provides a range of technology services for nonprofits, including news and articles, discussion forums, and discounted and donated technology products.
