Facebook is buying Plaxo according to a trusted VentureBeat source.

Yep, the very company that has been integrating functionality from top social media sites and also helping top bloggers get kicked off Facebook is allegedly mulling over an offer from “the giant killer.”

Could this be considered a reversal of fortune?

Hardly.

Perhaps the very technology used to scrape contact information from Facebook’s protected pages and also aggregate contact information from Exchange to Social Networks could also help Facebook extend the social graph amongst its fastest growing demographic.
