The 2008 Olympics have started and this year, you can really take advantage of technology to tune into your favorite sports.

The Wired How-To Wiki has a page devoted to different ways of accessing the Olympics online. You can use everything from YouTube (if you’re in the right country) to BitTorrent. Of course, there is NBC and it’s devoted Olympics site, which includes live video, athlete profiles and more.  WatchOlympicOnline has a feed into several different broadcasts worldwide, although not always in English. Other options include TVTonic and ItsGameTime.tv.

Google has developed a widget for your iGoogle that keeps track of all the events, medal counts, and news. In addition, there is a special Google Summer Olympics (can I say Googlympics?) landing page that links to YouTube video, Google maps info, and more.

On the go? Google has made it easy to keep track of the scores and standings via your mobile phone. Go to http://www.google.com/m/summergames to see a list of every sport in the Games. Just interested in one? Type that sport into mobile Google and get a listing of the events, medal count, and other information pertaining to your chosen sport right at the top of the page. (This works with non-mobile Google as well.)
